Resolution + Publication by the Royal Holstein=Lauenburg Supreme Court at Glückstadt of May 17, 1823, in the matter of privateers and their prizes in the harbors and navigable waters of the duchies Schleswig and Holstein. Accompanying resolution + publication. No place + printer, (1823). Fol. 1 p. each, the resolution on double sheet. With the printed signatures of C. L. Baron v. Brockdorff + M. Feldmann as well as the clerk Vollertsen, the publication additionally with L(oco) S(igilli) stamp.

FRAMING-WORTHY  BROADSHEETS  on laid paper untrimmed all around and at three sides resp., the double sheet of which with typographic (VDL) + separate figurative watermark.

First and including foreign men-of-war likewise :

“ No privateer, of which nation he ever may be, shall be allowed to stay in the harbors and navigable waters of the duchies Schleswig and Holstein. Just and only in the case such privateers are forced by an obvious peril by storm and thunder or hostile pursuit to search their only rescue in these harbors they are to be allowed admission there, and rendered the help which humanity requests, they shall, however, be obliged to put to sea again as soon as the peril is gone … ”

This all under the in the publication further specified details, saying that

“ no privateer, of which nation he ever may be, shall be permitted to send his prizes to the duchy Holstein, or to sell them there, no more it shall be allowed to them to unload or reload the prizes brought with, and to sell these themselves or their cargo, as a whole or partly; (as) it (is) prohibited for all … subjects … under severest punishment to buy the prizes made by foreign privateers, either by direct nor indirect means “.

Smoothed center fold. – The in each case wide white upper margin right above cracky and left there somewhat creasing. The right outer margin of the publication additionally slightly age-marked, the white back of the double sheet slightly smudged, otherwise fresh.
