Graf, Johannes (Fraustadt, Posen, 1837 – Bad Landeck, Silesia, 1917). Fisherman from Gaeta. Enlarged portrait laterally to the left. Wood engraving at Adolf Closs, Stuttgart. (1876.). Inscribed in the stock: Graf, otherwise in German as above. 8.5 x 6.5 cm.
BACK: Triumphal Arch of King Alfonso I in Naples. Still finely lighted, however below flashes of lightning and thunderclouds. In front two riders, the right of which getting a hold on the skittish left horse’s reins. Wood engraving by Friedrich Weigand (b. Vienna 1842) after Ludwig Dill (Gernsbach, Baden, 1848 – Karlsruhe 1940). Inscribed in the stock: F. Weigand sc. / Dill Neapel 74, otherwise in German as above. 24.7 x 13.5 cm. – Not concluded local text on both sides.
