Jordan, Rudolf (Berlin 1810 – Dusseldorf 1887). Lifeguard (at Scheveningen). Four lifeguards together with Pomeranian and tools in the guard-room, one with telescope in his hand looking out of the window, the others sitting by the fireside smoking or dozing. Toned wood engraving by Alfred Niedermann (1843 Zurich 1926) for Adolf Cloß, Stuttgart. (1875-76.) Inscribed: A Closs X I Niedermann sc, otherwise in German as above. 19.7 x 23 cm. – Cf.
