Armored Frigate Sachsen (Rear View). The 1877 lead ship of her class of four armored frigates on the slip. Wood engraving after Fritz Stoltenberg (Kiel 1855 – Schönberg/Holstein 1921) for A. Cloß, Stuttgart. (1880/81.) Inscribed: A. Closs X. I., otherwise in German as above. 12.8 x 16.7 cm. – Particularly interesting in regard of the two four-bladed propellers. – On both sides continuous German text “Wilhelmshaven and Our Fleet”.
